Fulbright Israel Alumni Mini Grants Initiative

Overview

Grant amount: Up to either $5,000 or $10,000 per award

Application period: July 1 – August 31, 2026

Timeline: Grants must be used by December 2027

Eligible applicants: Israeli Fulbright Israel alumni across all disciplines

In honor of Fulbright Israel’s 70th anniversary, we are launching a special project which seeks to strengthen connections across the alumni community while supporting initiatives that foster knowledge exchange, innovation, and collaboration between Israel and the United States. Beyond financial support, mini grants recognize and invest in the continued achievements and leadership of Fulbright alumni.

About the initiative

The mini grants are designed to support Fulbright Israel alumni in advancing academic, professional, artistic, scientific, educational, and public-impact initiatives that strengthen ties between Israel and the United States.

The scheme provides flexible, short-term support for projects and opportunities that contribute to alumni professional development, foster international collaboration, and generate meaningful impact within applicants’ fields and communities.

Mini grants may support a wide range of activities, including:

  • Participation in academic or professional conferences in the United States
  • Research-related travel
  • Access to laboratory space, archives, or specialized facilities
  • Collaborative projects with U.S.-based institutions or partners
  • Artistic residencies or creative collaborations
  • Educational, community, or public-interest initiatives
  • Pilot projects with potential for broader impact

Grants must be used for collaboration: in-person activities and exchange of knowledge. This means they are likely to include a travel component, either to the United States or inviting a guest from the United States to Israel.

Grantees are expected share the results of the funding through appropriate channels, such as email, social media, institutional platforms, or traditional media, and clearly acknowledge Fulbright Israel’s support.

Grantees must submit a brief report following the activity.

Program goals

The program aims to:

  • Encourage continued academic and professional collaboration between Israel and the United States
  • Support innovative initiatives across diverse disciplines
  • Provide opportunities for Fulbright Israel alumni
