EducationUSA Center organized an information session on Ph.D. programs in Clinical Psychology which covered an overview of the Clinical Psychology programs in the U.S., information on the admission and internship process, licensing in Israel and scholarship opportunities.
The presenters are current Ph.D. students at Columbia University and Hartford University whose Clinical Psychology programs are accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).

Over 300 prospective students attended our 6th annual MBA FAIR where twenty top U.S. business schools took part in the fair.
The two-day fair gave students an opportunity to speak to U.S. admission representatives and alumni from leading business schools. In addition, many informative and inspiring panels took place during the fair.

- How does the admissions committee make decisions in regards to international student admission;

- Life and culture for an international student in the U.S.
The workshop was delivered by Mr. Thomas B. Hassett, Director of International Admissions, Gannon University and Immediate Past President: PACAC, Pennsylvania Association for College Admission Counseling.

As part of Department of State's International Education Week, EducationUSA held an application strategy workshop for undergraduate students applying for the 2010 academic year.
Thirty students took part in a workshop which was intended to maximize students' chances for acceptance to universities of your choice.
The subjects covered were as follows:
- Tips on how an Israeli student can maximize unique aspects such as the Army experience, the Bagrut document etc.;
- Discussion on the profile of accepted students;
- How to fill out the Common Application;
- Strategy on essay writing;
- What is a good recommendation letter;
- Life and culture for an international student in the U.S.
The workshop was delivered by Ms. Evelyn Levinson, a 30-year expert on international education and the current Director of International Admissions at American University, Washington D.C.

- how the current finacial crisis affects admission and employment opportunities.
Darden's MBA program in finance, marketing and management has been ranked in the top 10 by Business Week, and by Financial Times ranked #2 in the world in the general management program.

Forty five prospective students interested in Ph.D. programs in Clinical Psychology took part in an information session that covered information on the admission process, overview of the Clinical Psychology program, and internships required as part of the program.
The presenter was a Ph.D. student at Gallaudet University in Washington D.C. whose Clinical Psychology program is fully accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).
In addition, Ms. Nurit Lustig, Senior Clinical Psychologist and Senior Coordinator and Acting Member of the Psychologist Registration Committee, Ministry of Health, gave a presentation on the necessary steps for licensing in Israel with a U.S. degree.

In addition, we were pleased to host an NYU alumni, currently employed at Google, who developed a successful strategy for the "American MBA recruiting process." He delivered a presentation on post-graduate employment opportunities in the U.S., how to prepare impressive C.Vs,
and how to successfully market oneself.

Over five hundred prospective students took part in StudyUSA's fourth MBA fair held in Tel Aviv.
Sixteen leading business schools participated in the fair.
Ambassador James B. Cunningham and USIEF Chairman Dan Vilenski gave opening remarks. They were followed by an impressive group of keynote speakers, among them Vice-Admiral Mr. David Ben Bashat, Former Commander in Chief of the Israeli Navy.

Sixteen students were selected and took part in the opening of the Special English Course for Arab students who are interested in improving their English language skills and gaining admission to graduate programs of study in the U.S.
The course consists of 272 academic hours at the end of which students will be ready to take the TOEFL and GRE examinations.

Sixty-nine students took part in the Academic Writing Workshop which focused on the importance of essays in the admission process for students applying to M.A. and Ph.D. degrees.
The workshop was conducted by Professor Bennett Kravitz from University of Haifa and discussed the following topics:
- importance of personal statements in the admission process;
- the difference between the Personal Statement and the Statement of Purpose;
- special points which Israeli students should emphasize in their statements.

Forty-one students took part in the MBA writing workshop which focused on the importance of essays in the MBA admission process.
The workshop was conducted by professional tutors and other service providers who discussed the following topics:
- strategic planning of MBA applications and program selection;
- understanding the essay questions posed by universities such as Stanford, Wharton, Kellogg and Harvard.
